Thug
Life
Thug Life was
the first Group that 2Pac created. The project was originally planned in
1991 and was to be called Underground Railroad. Thug Life consisted
of 2Pac's step brother Mopreme, Big Syke, Rated R, Macadoshis and of course
2Pac. Thug Life was formed in 1994 but split in early 1995 which was due to
2Pac going to jail. They did one album entitled Thug Life Volume 1
which was pretty good but would have been a lot better but Interscope took
some of the tracks off because it was too Hardcore.
2Pac was at
his craziest during his Thug Life period and at one concert he went
crazy and picked up a gun and challenged the whole crowd to have a got at
him. They also made some great songs like How Long Will They Mourn Me?,
Cradle To The Grave, Pour Out A Little Liqour and Bury Me a
G. When 2Pac went to Prison he renounced Thug Life saying that it was
ignorance but even people like Puffy were saying once you started this shit
you gotta go stay with it forever. When 2Pac came out of Jail the group
didn't come back together but 2Pac formed another group called Tha
Outlawz was supposed to contain all of the members of Thug Life
but Rated R and Macahoshis objected to working for the CEO of
Death Row Records Suge Knight being 2Pac's new "friend."
Thug Life were
a good group but they died. It now seems that they may get back together to
do a Thug Life Volume 2 album. Amaru Entertainment are looking to get all of
the members together and do the project under Amaru Records.
For 2Pac Thug
Life wasn't just a group it was a lifestyle. The letters for Thug Life stand
for "The Hate U Give Little Infants Fuck Everybody." Thug Life was
meant to be a project 2Pac set up with Mike Tyson to help children against
child abuse and cruelty.
Tupac had the
word Thug Life tatted on his stomach which he got in 1992. The phrase Thug
Life was very important to Tupac, he always said it in songs.
"Even in my darkest nights, I'm a Thug For Life!"
