Death Row

Snoop Doggy Dogg as he was known then had recorded a Demo Tape back in '91 with his friends Warren G and Nate Dogg. Warren G happened to be brother of hot shot Rap Producer Dr. Dre who had founded what would be the Death Row Dynasty. Dre heard the Demo Tape and was blown away. He asked Snoop to appear on his Multi-Platinum debut solo album Tha Chronic back in 1992. Snoop was then signed to the label and in 1993 released Doggystyle which was without a doubt one of the best Rap albums ever to hit stores. It was also released around the time Snoop was booked for murder. Due to the murder case Snoop couldn't released anything on Death Row until 1996 which was entitled Tha Doggfather. This did not sell as well as it's predecessor. Snoop was torn apart in 1996 when his homie Tupac Shakur was killed and Suge Knight was sent to prison.  As a result Snoop's next album was never released and in 1998 Master P bought out Snoop's contract with Death Row and signed him to his No Limit Label. Since Snoop left Death Row has fallen apart and Death Row have dissed him on many occasions, they've called him a snitch and also signed a Snoop biter to the label called Top Dogg who on 2Pac's Greatest Hits replaced Snoop's part in the sing All About U.
